I live in Hamburg, Germany now and I will stay here (might be changed the city though) for a year on a working holiday visa. The purpose of this new journey is to travel around Europe because it’s not easy to travel to Europe from Japan. I wanted to see the world when I’m still young, so I chose I lived in Europe and traveled a lot before going back to Japan. I’d like to enjoy visiting many countries, meeting new friends, trying new foods, making new experiences and growing as a person. Also I will work for making money to travel and I’m very excited to work at a Japanese restaurant. I really like to see the customers enjoying Japanese food ☺️ The reason why I chose Germany is that I met my German best friends when I studied in Korea and I felt German people have an open mind for everyone. I really liked it so I wanted to go to Germany. I’d like to write down about this two weeks. I was depressed and homesick for the first few days because I was rushing to find a job and room. I couldn’t eat enough and I didn’t want to go outside at that time. Soon after arriving, I had to stay in hotel for a week because my flatmate went to see his cousin, so I booked the hotel very quickly. But my negative emotions were going away gradually and I could enjoy exploring downtown and meeting my friends after two years. I applied a job and worked as a trial. It’s very busy and hard but everyone was kind to me. The boss invited me to a BBQ party and I could make Japanese friends there. I still have a chance to go their concert in Germany! Should I get the ticket right now?! Does anyone in Hamburg like one ok rock 🙄 I actually have met a nice person on this app when I was in Korea. I really wanted to go to Harry Styles’ concert but the tickets were sold out… I asked the way of getting the tickets for resale here even though it’s a worth a shot. Then, a kind person answered politely and we finally went to the concert together. For me, the experience was one of the most memorable in Korea and I was touched by the kindness of the Korean people. Today was the Nagasaki vs Saga game which are neighbors. This is my personal happening, but Chinese customers yell at me and my boss at my work place just because I told her the waiting people incorrectly. And I told her correctly again soon, but she wasn’t convinced that and she started to shout. As a result, we kicked them out because she didn’t calm down at all. Other Japanese customers around there were laughing because it’s so ridiculous😮‍💨 I don’t want to hate specific countries or races but I can say it’s usually the Chinese who do harm to Japan. They torment the deer in Nara, make the toilets dirty, have bad table manners, and so on. That’s why we Japanese don’t like Chinese people. I’m very curious about how bad their culture and education. Of course I know some Chinese people are nice because I have some good friends from China. I’d learned Chinese before and my Chinese teacher was so nice. If you are proud of your country, remember that when you leave your country you will be a factor in determining your impression of it. After high school, they either work or go to college and graduate after four years. After graduation, they get a job right away and continue in the same job until age 60. Therefore, taking a step down a different path or taking a break is very difficult and is accompanied by loneliness, anxiety, and impatience. So, I am surrounded by negative emotions because I am now off that path. Yesterday, an American customer came to the café where I was working and we had a chance to talk. He asked me about my dream, so I said, “I’d like to create my own community for people studying Japanese or interested in Japan and support them in the future!” Then he said, “That's great! You're still young, good luck.” I’d never told my friends and family about my dream because I was too embarrassed to talk about it. However, his words lightened my heart a little. It takes courage to take a different path from others, but I’ll do my best, believing that greater success awaits me than for those who follow a fixed course and lead an ordinary life.
