So... shall we talk about something interesting? 😏
Yes! Let's talk about the word "shall" in English! 🎩🌂

✨ What does “shall” mean?

Shall is a formal or polite modal verb used to:

1. Make suggestions
2. Offer help
3. Make polite invitations

You’ll hear it in British English more than American English, but it’s still good to know!
🇬🇧😉

Examples‼️

📌 Suggestions:

🔹️Shall we go for a walk?
🔹️It’s cold. Shall we stay inside?

📌 Offers:

🔹️Shall I carry your bag?
🔹️You look tired. Shall I get you some tea?

📌 Invitations:

🔹️Shall we meet at 6 p.m.?
🔹️It's Friday. Shall we watch a movie?

⚠️ Quick tips:

🔸️“Shall” is mostly used with I or we.

🔸️It’s more common in British English than in American.

🔸️It sounds polite, formal, or romantic. 🥰

Word of the day: refined ✅️
Meaning: elegant, cultured, or well-mannered
📌 "His way of speaking is very refined—he always says 'shall' instead of 'should'."

🗣️Your turn! Write one sentence using “Shall we…” or “Shall I…”. Let’s practice together in the comments! 💬👇

Shall we? 😄

## 2. 8/21/2025

You speak of truth to someone whose voice has slowly drowned in the corrosive shadow of indifference, and you long to see tears in eyes weary from beholding the falsehood of those who claim to love.

My dear dreaming flower: you're speaking to an empty heart, calling to die on the battlefield someone who has nothing at all left to defend.

Indeed, it is hard to believe in anything when our faith in this world has been utterly lost.
But tell me—what would our lives be without a spark of such light?
If only those on the brink of surrender knew how much it costs to recover hope!

Please don't give in… keep walking forward, and never let this cold world extinguish the fire that burns within you. 🌺

🌙 I've got a new English post for you guys because it's 2:00 a.m. here and I can't sleep. 🤭

Let’s talk about three important words that are often used in social and cultural discussions:

💡 Prejudices – Bias – Discrimination 👈🏾

What do they really mean in English? Let’s break it down:

1️⃣ Prejudices

🧠 Definition: Prejudices are preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual experience.
They are often negative and deeply rooted in stereotypes.

📌 Example:

He didn’t want to hire her because of his prejudices against women in leadership. 🧕🏼🙋🏾‍♀️
(This means he already had a negative opinion without real reason.)

2️⃣ Bias

🧠 Definition: A bias is a tendency to favor one thing, person, or group over another, often unfairly.
It can be conscious or unconscious.

📌 Example:

The teacher had a bias toward her favorite student and gave her better grades. 🖤🤍
(This isn’t necessarily hate, but still unfair.)

3️⃣ Discrimination

🧠 Definition: Discrimination means acting on prejudice or bias — treating someone unfairly because of their identity (race, gender, religion, etc). 🚫

📌 Example:

They faced discrimination when they were denied service because of their nationality.

🧠 Quick Recap:

🔸️Prejudice = Negative opinion
🔸️Bias = Preference or tendency
🔸️Discrimination = Action based on those opinions

🗣 Let’s practice!

Write one sentence using any of these words in the comments. Let’s learn from each other! 👇

When life overwhelms me, I like to look at the sky. 🌠
The peace with which the clouds drift, the stillness of the mountains, and the gentle greeting of a rising sun… Up there, my pain doesn’t exist.
Is all of this really so bad?
How many hardships have we already overcome that are now nothing more than life lessons?
This too shall pass. Have faith. 🕊

In the end, we're all fighting to find meaning in our lives. ❤️‍🔥
Wishing you all a beautiful rest of the week! 🙏🏾

🚫 “Won’t” That Isn’t Future Tense?!

Did you know won’t can also describe the PRESENT? 😲

📱 “I got my phone from you guys, but now it won’t work.”

Even though won’t is a contraction of will not, in this case it doesn’t mean future at all. Instead, it expresses frustration about something that refuses to work right now.

🔍 What does it mean?
Using won’t in this way implies:

🔹️A device or object refuses to cooperate.
🔹️There’s a tone of annoyance or emotion.
🔹️It’s happening right now, not later.

🧠 Real-life examples:

🔸️The printer won’t turn on.
🔸️My laptop won’t respond.
🔸️The door won’t open.
🔸️My pen won’t write.

It’s like the object is saying... 💁🏾‍♂️

“Nope! Not today!” 😤

🆚 More neutral alternatives:

✅ It doesn’t work. → Neutral

✅ It isn’t working. → Present continuous

✅ It has stopped working. → Recent change

But if you want to sound natural and casual,
👉 “It won’t work” is what most native speakers say!

🎯 Challenge:

Think of something in your life that just won’t work! 🤯

It's always good to make time for yourself! Tonight, I had the chance to listen to Mozart's Requiem at one of the Candlelight concerts held in my city. 🎻😍
I must admit, friends… my heart wept, for it has always wept before what is truly beautiful. ❤️‍🔥
I reflected, remembered, and meditated on times long past… 🍁
Without a doubt, an experience worth repeating. 🥺

Do you really believe I'm learning this or that language just so my ideas can be understood?

Then let me tell you something — you're caught up in the words,
but missing their meaning.

What truly matters is what we long to bring forth from within —
and that lies far beyond form and sound.

What we seek to express cannot be understood,
because it cannot be seen with the eyes,
nor touched with the hands...
not even heard with the ears.

My friend...
what we’re trying to convey simply does not belong to this world... 🌱

Learning Farsi has been one of the most beautiful experiences I've had so far. 😊
However, I must confess that the cognitive dissonance I've experienced has led me to pause my lessons many times. 😂🥲

This language represents something completely new for me: the alphabet, writing from right to left... everything is different! 😍🙈

The good news? I understand that this is normal with any language, and it's just a matter of accepting Farsi into my heart, loving it, and getting to know it more and more each day with an open mind.

🎬 A Story of Lights, Rides… and Total Confusion!

Yesterday, Sam’s morning started off in chaos. 😵

His little sister yelled:
“Sam! You forgot to turn off the kitchen light again!” 💡

He ran downstairs and said,
“Sorry! I thought I had turned it off... or did I turn it on twice?” 🤔

Then came the school run. Sam had to drop her off by 7:30 a.m. 🚗
But halfway there, she screamed,
“You forgot my backpack!” 🎒

So he made a U-turn, picked it up, and dropped her off again.

At 3 p.m., she called:
“Are you coming to pick me up or should I walk 10 miles home?” 😤

Let’s just say... next time, Sam will make a checklist.
🔹 Turn off light? ✔️
🔹 Drop her off? ✔️
🔹 Pick her up? ✔️
🔹 Sanity? ❌🤣

📘 Phrasal Verbs Today:

🔹 Turn on = to activate something
👉 Can you turn on the TV? 📺

🔹 Turn off = to deactivate
👉 Please turn off the lights before you leave. 💡

🔹 Drop off = to leave someone/something at a place
👉 I dropped my brother off at school. 🏫

🔹 Pick up = to go and collect someone/something
👉 She picked me up from work. 🚙

🎭 A Grammatical Tragedy… or Comedy?
(You decide! 😄)

Last week, Max decided to put on a play at work — not because he’s an actor, but because he wanted to impress the others in the office. 🧑‍💼🎭

He told another colleague, “I’ll write the script, direct it, and even play the lead role!”

His friend said, “Are you serious or just putting us on?”

Max replied, “I never pretend… unless I’m on stage!” 🤡

But after three days of stress-eating muffins, Max started to put on weight… a lot. 🍩😵‍💫

On the day of the performance, he took the day off to relax before his big debut. But guess what? When he arrived at the venue, the lights were out, and nobody was there.

He had told the other team — not his team — about the play! 😅

In a panic, he called the company’s social media intern and begged, “Can you post about the play right now?”

Well… she did. And to Max’s surprise, the video took off online! 🎥📈

The next day, he came back to work as an overnight star. His coworkers looked at him and said:
“That was hilarious! Please put it on again next week!” 😂

📘 Vocabulary & Phrasal Verbs

🔹️ Put on weight: gain weight
🔹️Put on a performance: arrange or present something (a play, a show)
🔹️ Put someone on: to trick or pretend

🔸️Take-off: when a plane leaves the ground ✈️
🔸️Take time off: not go to work
🔸️Take off (success): to suddenly grow or become popular

💡 Other / Another / The Others

Another = one more of the same type → Can I have another slice? 🙍🏽🍕🍕

The other = the second of two → I chose one book, and my friend took the other. 🙍🏽📕 🙍🏻‍♀️📗

The others = the rest (group) → She stayed while the others left. 🙍🏻‍♀️ ➡️ 🙍🏽🙍🏼‍♀️🙍🏿‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🙋🏾‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🙆🏻

Mansur Al-Hallaj is by far one of my favourite Sufi writers. Despite he rarely wrote in Farsi, I cannot help but feel the Persian spiritual heritage in his works. His teachings on عشق (ʿIshq) and وحده الوجود (waḥdat al-wujūd) are simply fascinating! 😍

English translation... 👇🏽

"Any love that dares steal my heart—
if it is not yours, it is forbidden to me.
You are my wine and my spirit,
my rose and its lingering scent.
You are my joy and my unrest,
my ailment and my cure.
From yearning to yearning, life quietly slips away...
but only in you does peace truly dwell."

- Mansur Al-Hallaj ❤

⚠️ Disclaimer:
I don’t mean to disrespect the Arabic language with my imperfect pronunciation; I simply wished to humbly recite this poem in the beautiful language Mansur once wrote in. 🙏🏾

💬 This is a Tag Question, isn't it? 🙈
Boost Your English: Let’s Talk About Tag Questions! 🎯

🧠 What are Tag Questions?
Tag questions are short questions added at the end of a statement. We use them to confirm information or invite agreement.

✅ Basic structure:

🔹 Affirmative sentence → negative tag
You’re tired, aren’t you?

🔹 Negative sentence → affirmative tag
She doesn’t like coffee, does she?

🔄 Rules to remember:

✅️ The verb in the tag matches the auxiliary/modal of the main sentence.
— He can speak French, can’t he?

✅️ If there’s no auxiliary, use “do / does / did”.
— They like pizza, don’t they?
— She went home early, didn’t she?

✨ Common examples:

🔸️It’s cold today, isn’t it? ❄️
🔸️You love learning languages, don’t you? 📚
🔸️We haven’t met before, have we? 👋
🔸️You’d like some tea, wouldn’t you? ☕

🔍 Practice Time!

▪️She is your best friend, isn't she?
▪️You are the expert here, aren't you?
▪️It isn't that difficult, is it?
▪️I am the only one you love... ⁉️ 🤔

But wait... what’s the negative tag for "I am"?
Try it and find out — you might be surprised! 🤭

Also, try writing your own tag questions below 👇
And tell me — this is helpful, isn’t it? 🥺

Today I tried something different: I wrote some random words and phrases to get myself thinking in Farsi and start forming sentences like I would in a real conversation.
So, how did it go, guys? 🤭
I know it doesn't make much sense — it probably sounds like a psychotic, disorganized speech — 🥲 but I think it's a great exercise to help me think in Farsi, which is exactly what I want the most. 😍

🕰️ Idioms about TIME — ⏳

"Last week, I procrastinated on my presentation all day. I told myself I'd "just rest my eyes"—and somehow woke up drenched in sweat 15 minutes before class. 😅

I got dressed in a frenzy, grabbed the wrong USB, and dashed to campus. I arrived at the eleventh hour, completely out of breath... and then realized I'd forgotten my laptop. 😵‍💫

Luckily, a kind classmate had a copy of the file. I plugged it in and started presenting in the nick of time—just before the professor closed the door.

My teacher smiled and said, “Well, better late than never, I suppose.” 😄

To this day, I’m utterly amazed I survived that mess..."

🧠 Vocabulary Boost:

🔸️Better late than never → It's better to do something late than not at all.

🔸️At the eleventh hour → At the last possible moment.

🔸️In the nick of time → Just in time, before it's too late.

🔹️Procrastinate: to delay doing something.

🔹️Drenched: completely wet.

🔹️Utterly: completely or absolutely.

Finally, after more than a month, the Bhagavad Gītā I ordered online has arrived — just as I finish studying the Sanskrit alphabet. 😊
I had to import it from the U.S. because there are no bilingual editions available where I live. 🤭
This one is in both Sanskrit and Spanish, and includes commentaries by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.

Truly, it's one of the greatest scriptures I’ve ever read, and I’m so happy to study it again — this time with a professional edition, and in the original language in which it was written. 💙

Today's word: rather ✨
(Used to correct or clarify what you just said.)

💡 "Rather" is often used to adjust or replace something you've just mentioned. It softens what you say or makes it more precise.

✅ Examples:

🔹 The music— or rather, the noise— from the party kept me up all night. 😩🎉

🔹 We visited Paris— or rather, we passed through it quickly. 🗼

🔹 I’m not angry— but rather, I’m disappointed. 😔

🔹 She’s a teacher— or rather, a guide for lost souls. 🌱

🔹 He didn't quit— but rather, he was asked to leave. 🚪

📝
"I always thought I wanted to travel the world— or rather, I wanted to escape routine. The difference is subtle, but it matters. Sometimes, we chase something not because we want it, but rather because we’re running from something else."

## 27. 7/11/2025

I want to walk until I reach you. I want to rest in those silent forests that do not judge; to lose myself among your dense branches and hide from my anxiety.
I am tired of words and forms, of prejudices and labels, of colors that divide and shades that separate.
I am weary of the good and the bad, of the oppressors and the oppressed, of what is true and what is false, of heaven and hell.
I am exhausted from loving what does not love me back and from hating what I have never truly hated.
I no longer want to run from my fears or chase false illusions that break my heart.
I only want to live to laugh, and to cry... and to laugh again as I walk toward you.
Let me enter that place please, let me lay my head on your gentle meadows and drown in your cold air until I fall asleep and dream without limits.
Take me to the beginning, take me to the origin of all things, I beg you... take me to deliverance. 🌱

⏳
Master the Past of the Past: The Past Perfect! 📜✨

💬
Want to talk about something that happened before another event in the past?
That’s exactly what the Past Perfect is for!
It helps you tell stories and explain the order of past events clearly. 💭✨

🧩 Structure:

✅ Subject + had + past participle
We use it to show that one action happened before another past action.

✅ Examples:

I had done that when my mother told me not to. 🧒➡️👩‍👦
👉 First: I did it.
👉 Then: She told me not to.

She had already left when I arrived. 🚪
👉 First: She left.
👉 Then: I arrived.

They had finished dinner before the guests came. 🍽️
👉 First: They finished eating.
👉 Then: The guests arrived.

🗣️ Why use Past Perfect?

✅ To make the order of events clear.
✅ Great for storytelling and writing.

💪🏽 Exercise – Practice Time!

Complete the sentences using Past Perfect:

1️⃣ When I got home, they ______ (leave).

2️⃣ She didn’t want to go because she ______ (hear) the news.

3️⃣ He ______ (finish) his work before the deadline.

4️⃣ We were late because we ______ (forget) the time.

5️⃣ By the time the show started, everyone ______ (sit).
