15th August, 1947 - India broke its chains. But what we rarely say out loud is this: The British didn’t “give” us freedom. We fought for it. We bled for it. From the British East India Company’s conquest to the Empire ruled by the British monarchy, India was exploited, starved, and silenced. 💔 Jallianwala Bagh — 1,000+ peaceful Indians gunned down in minutes. 💔 Bengal famine — millions starved while British ships carried food out. 💔 Kohinoor, artefacts, treasures — stolen, displayed, never returned. And no — not once has the "British government" or "royal family" officially apologized. Not for the killings. Not for the massacre. Not for the theft. Not for the empire. But still, we rose. We rebuilt. We became one of the world’s strongest democracies. We don’t need their apology but we’ll never forget the truth. This is our Independence Day 🇮🇳 A day earned, not gifted.
