In English there are things called Idioms. These are small phrases we use to add emphasis to what we say. It can make you sound alot more fluent in using these phrases but sometimes for a non native English speaker they can be confusing. Here are a few examples: ☆ "I have butterflies in my tummy" I'm sure many non native English speakers would think what! You ate butterflies?? No, this means you are very nervous about something! For example you have a date with someone you like you can say "I have butterflies in my tummy thinking about my date tonight." It adds more emphasis to your sentence you're not just nervous, you're very nervous! There are many idioms in English that can sound quite funny but it's good to learn a few of these phrases to take your English learning to the next level and to impress any English speakers you may meet.
