C’est une chanson d’amour, un peu nostalgique, qui raconte l’histoire d’une jeune femme qui tombe amoureuse dans une guinguette (un lieu de danse et de fĂȘte trĂšs populaire en France au dĂ©but du XXe siĂšcle). SĂ©duite par un bel homme aux paroles tendres, elle s’abandonne Ă  l’amour
 avant de comprendre qu’il n’était pas sincĂšre. Une histoire d’amour courte, intense, et finalement malheureuse. MalgrĂ© la tristesse du texte, la mĂ©lodie est une valse entraĂźnante et romantique, trĂšs reprĂ©sentative de la musique française de l’époque. Cette chanson fait toujours partie du patrimoine musical français. It’s a love song, a bit nostalgic, that tells the story of a young woman who falls in love in a guinguette (a popular place for dancing and fun in early 20th-century France). She’s charmed by a handsome man with sweet words and gives in to love
 only to realize later that he wasn’t sincere. It’s a short, intense, and sadly unhappy love story. Even though the lyrics are sad, the melody is a romantic and lively waltz, very typical of French music from that time. The song is still a big part of French musical heritage.
