🍙What is your favourite food to eat on a hot summer day?🍙 For me , hands down, is the Sushi sandwich (Onigirazu style sandwich)! It’s easy to make and it's nice to take on-the go. I made some extra to enjoy them somewhere in the nature tomorrow. I recommend preparing your sushi rice the night before (washing+soaking) and cooking it first thing in the morning. This way not only we take advantage of the morning temperatures (As we know cooking in the summer can get unbearable 😩) but also the rice will have enough time to cool down. I season the rice like I would normally do, for the sushi (sugar+ rice vinegar). Also, since I'm using tofu, I also like to marinate the thin slices of it in soy sauce and garlic overnight. Then, I pan-fry them in the morning, when the rice is cooking. Then, I assemble it like on the pictures and put it in the fridge to chill. You can use any ingredients you want. My favourite and easiest version contains tofu, carrots, avocado and a bit of wasabi. Try to make the layers even, rather thin and square-shaped. The more layers you are going to make, the thinner they should be. Some people like to use cling film to secure the shape. But I like to use as little plastic as possible and the nori holds the shape very well by itself! 💡Tip: If you notice that one nori sheet doesn't cover your "sandwich" fully, you can cut the other nori sheet into four smaller squares. Then use one to patch it up 😉 Enjoy!
