ℹ️🇩🇪🧳🙂 Frankfurt am Main is a really great urban city and probably the most culturally welcoming city besides Berlin for English speakers and people from all over the world! The "Bahnhofsviertel" in Frankfurt is unavoidable as a tourist traveling by train! Unfortunately Frankfurt, like probably every big city, has unattractive neighborhoods! The Bahnhofsviertel is very centrally located and is right next to the well known financial district, but drug abuse, prostitution and violence are part of everyday life there. So it's kinda bizarre that many great hotels, pubs and theaters, etc. are right in this district. If you want to explore some of them, there are many guided tours with locals you can book. (Recommended) But long story short; It's like any "dangerous" neighborhood, be more careful when you walk there and avoid it at night and you‘ll be ok! Frankfurt is a cool city to explore - when you know the right spots ;-) To make it even clearer, I am attaching a photo from a German daily newspaper, which clearly shows which streets in the neighborhood should be avoided if you wanna feel more safe.
