🧠 Debunking Harmful Myths About Chinese People Let’s clear the air on a few dangerous misconceptions that continue to circulate — often without real experience or understanding behind them: ❌ “Chinese people hate Black people” This is not a universal truth. While some individuals may hold biases — as is the case in every country — it’s irresponsible and unfair to paint over 1.4 billion people with the same brush. Many Chinese people are curious about other cultures, including Black culture, and countless friendships, academic exchanges, and collaborations have shown mutual respect. Ignorance exists, but so does human decency and the capacity to grow. ❌ “Chinese people feel superior” Cultural pride doesn’t always equal arrogance. China has thousands of years of history, and many Chinese people are proud of that heritage — just as Americans, Africans, Europeans, or Arabs might be proud of theirs. Pride is not supremacy. And most ordinary Chinese citizens are just trying to live good lives, not prove superiority. ❌ “Chinese people hate anyone who isn’t Han” China is a multi-ethnic country with 56 officially recognized ethnic groups, and while the Han are the majority, this doesn’t mean all Han Chinese “hate” minorities. Yes, there are tensions — just like in other diverse societies — but assuming that every Han Chinese person is anti-minority erases the many examples of cooperation, intermarriage, cultural blending, and solidarity. ⚠️ What we need is more face-to-face dialogue, more cultural exchange, and fewer assumptions. Racism and prejudice are global problems — they are not “Chinese” problems or “Black” problems or “American” problems. They are human problems. Let’s stop generalizing and start talking to each other, not about each other. #AntiRacism #China #DebunkingStereotypes #BlackAndAsianUnity #CulturalRespect
