Do you sometimes say 'bay' instead of 'pay'? You're not alone! Arabic speakers often mix up "p" and "b" because Arabic doesn’t have the "p" sound. The difference is simple: "p" has a small puff of air (like in "pen"), but "b" doesn’t (like in "bat"). To fix this, practice words like "pat" and "bat," and try feeling the puff of air when you say "p." As a non native, too, I also have my own struggles. I pronounce the word "the" like "dah" or "their" like "der." Also, I say "por" instead of "for" and "TB" instead of "TV". I failed many job applications because of this. I decided if I want a better job, I need to do something. I practiced daily. It took me over 4 months to see some improvements. But, there's still more to learn and practice. To start my daily speaking routine, I do simple vocal warm-ups by Accent's Way English with Hadar. The video's title is "15 Minute Morning Pronunciation Practice for English Learners". Do it daily for a month. If it hurts, slow down or lessen the repetitions. But slowly build up the intensity as you practice. I'm excited to see you grow! Follow for more tips and stories.
