Today I did 断捨離(dansyali: some decluttering), unwanted clothes, accessories, kitchen tools, etc.

I will sell them on Facebook marketplace for Japanese.

I know Marktplaats, which is a platform to buy sell used products between customers.
I have heard that Dutch platforms are not good.

In Japan, メルカリ(merukari) , ヤフオク(yahoo auction) and ジモティー (jomoty) are so popular, useful, easy, safe and famous to buy sell products, which are brand products, used cosmetics, clothes, even something like garbage, everything else.

If you live in Japan, you can give or get used products for free or so cheap from residents living close to you on ジモティー.
I gave my useful products like a refrigerator, chairs etc to foreigners living near my house. They knew the platform wisely.

If you want to use メルカリin Japan, you might need to change the settings of your smartphone into Japan.

メルカリ is famous among people in ages of 10s-40s. Younger people tend not to afford to pay, so you can get cheaper and sell cheaper. This is a generation that likes to invest in themselves, so books sell for higher prices.

ヤフオク is among people in ages of 30s-70s. Older people tend to afford to pay, so you can sell for higher prices.


Actually I used to be a salesperson so doing sales was exciting for me.
I sold everything I possessed before I left Japan, over 200 products within 2 months, almost without claims and trouble.

I am a minimalist, moved to the Netherlands with only one suitcase.
But recently my possessions are increasing so I am trying to reduce them.

In fact it was enough for me to have only one backpack. My Passport,a laptop PC, a smart phone, a wallet and some files. It all fits in a backpack.

However, now I need a big suitcase to let my 4 geese spend comfortably.
