Ni hao significa "olá" cumprimento mais usado na China, especialmente no primeiro encontro com alguém ou numa ocasião formal . A primeira frase na conversa por telefone é sempre Ni hao também . Nin hao, que significa também "olá " , é usado para se dirigir a idosos ou pessoas em alta posição para mostrar o respeito . Mas você deve dizer Nimen hao, e nao Ninmen hao, quando falar com mais de uma pessoa. Os chineses ficam mais casuais em ocasiões informais.
