I worked as a freelance illustrator years ago. Today I found a piece of my old work and felt like not too bad. These days I have been working part time as a loader for a Taiwanese supermarket for a week. It’s good for me to practice making things organized and in order, and doing labour work is a great way to strengthen my body muscles ,reducing my time on the phone. It is so hard to find a job nowadays, I finally realized that T&Tsupermarket ,the last option in my mind, would not accept me as well cuz I was not qualified., the meat cutters there are either PHD holders or professional doctors!😂😂 After getting rejected or ghosted again and again, I became more mature and sneaky. I claimed I was a professional cleaner/landscaper/store associate instead of mentioning my art education and teaching background , and soon I got several interviews. It’s so exciting to experience new career paths . I took a housekeeping job in a local hotel, learned to use three different types of commercial vacuum machines in a short time period. Fortunately the supervisor and my team members are super nice and inclusive, they don’t care my broken English at all and never urged me for anything except to have a break! In addition, the pay is better than being an art teacher.
