Today I was shocked that I couldn't remember how to write「棄」of「廃棄物」😵 So I did a writing training. 姿三四郎 is one of my favorite novel. place…Tokyo, Meiji era 辰三(たつぞう)…An owner of rental houses おぎん…たつぞう's daughter 三四郎(さんしろう)…柔道家 Judo practitioner. He used to live in たつぞう's rental house a while. I like this novel. It's very fun to read because Tokyo dialect (Edo dialect maybe) is fun to read, also a bit old fashioned Japanese is also fun to read. (but not too old that can suffer me to read) Here you can see an example how people in the period thought when choosing what to eat, what was the menu to welcome an important friend. The habit of eating beef had been just begun. Sashimi or a certain kind of fishes were not everyday's menu but they were for the occasions which is important for a family. The idea is the same today, but probably more rare opportunity than today I guess even in Tokyo, where fishes were easier to get than other places in Japan.
