Steaming is a traditional cooking method in many Asian cultures. Since moving to Ireland, I haven’t had many chances to enjoy steamed food. Steaming preserves the natural taste of the ingredients without burning or caramelising them. Here are two steamed dishes from home: steamed egg 蒸水蛋and garlic prawns with noodles 蒜蓉粉絲蒸蝦. These are usually served with rice, and on their own, they’re quite low in calories and healthy.
