The Story of Portuguese People in Hong Kong I really like visiting exhibitions. A good exhibition is not just about gaining knowledge—it’s also a chance to learn about aesthetic design. As soon as I entered, I saw several Portuguese mixed-race people telling stories from different angles about their ancestors, culture, food, and this piece of land. While I was watching a holographic projection of a little girl talking about her background and language shift, a gentle voice behind me said: “Come, let me show you…” Then my attention turned to the projection on a table—a kind old lady describing how ingredients from her home country mixed and combined cleverly with local foods, creating a unique type of fusion Portuguese cuisine with local characteristics. There was also an interactive projection that invited you to “flip” through the pages of a virtual book introducing several Portuguese people who contributed to the local community. When I thought back about this exhibition experience, I remembered a short film I saw a long time ago made by Momondo—a company that traces ancestral DNA. It said: “You have more in common with the world than you think.” You have more in common with the world than you think"
