DOMBRA Dombra (Kazakh: домбыра, dombyra, Bashkir: думбыра) is a long-necked, stringed Turkish musical instrument. It is widely used in Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Dombra first appeared in the Middle Ages. It is considered the common musical instrument of the Turks. It has an important place in the history of the Nogay Turks.
