Don't say as someone said when faced with a calamity: "The Owner disposes of His affairs as He wishes. He is Wise and does nothing in vain." Rather, say as mentioned in the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), on the authority of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said to Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him): "Shall I not teach you a supplication that you can recite so that if you were in debt the size of Mount Uhud, Allah would pay it off for you?" So he taught him to say this supplication. This supplication is also mentioned in the Holy Quran in the verse: "Say, 'O Allah, Owner of the Kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will and You take the kingdom away from whom You will. You exalt whom You will and You abase whom You will. In Your Hand is all good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.'" A powerful thing. You cause the night to enter the day and cause the day to enter the night. You bring the living out of the dead and bring the dead out of the living. And You provide for whom You will without account. To be continued
