In Islam, love is not forbidden — rather, love practised through halal (permissible) means is highly encouraged. Marriage is the only legitimate and blessed way to express and grow love between a man and a woman. Any romantic relationship outside of marriage, such as boyfriend-girlfriend love, is not permitted in Islam and may lead to sinful actions.
