I'll share some Japanese words or phrases which are different from English ones. 1. メモを取る(memo wo toru): take notes *memo comes from memorandum 2. ミスをする(mis wo suru): make a mistake *Many Japanese think ミス is English. That's why we often say ''Oh, I missed!'' So, don't ask us who we miss. A casual one is ミスる 3.クレーム(claim): complaint *Complaint can be used in any situation, but this one is used only when someone complains about a restaurant, shops or something like that. 4.アルバイト(arubaito): part-time job *definitely comes from Arbeit, German word representing work, but some Japanese believe it's English. Abbreviated one is バイト 5. コンセント(consent): outlet *This is really confusing. You can tell how strict Japanese society is, because we need consensus from outlet. 5. レンジ(range): microwave *Maybe we're just trying to confuse you. 6. ペットボトル(pet bottle): plastic bottle *Don't misunderstand us. ペットcomes from PET, the abbreviation of ''polyethylene terephthalate.'' We don't think plastic bottles as our pets. Hope it'll help you learn Japanese! Cheers:)
