Honestly, I tend to write when I’m deep in raw emotions, and the end result is usually pretty sad. The Night I Lost You Twice, I fell for you. Not because I wanted to, But because the closeness we shared Made it impossible not to love you. Still, I told myself it would never go further. That I’d never pursue you, That I’d never risk what we had. But hiding it felt like a betrayal. I thought you deserved to know. I thought honesty was the way To protect the friendship I cherished. That night, your heart was already breaking, Splintered by someone else’s cruelty. You sat beside me, fragile and raw, And in my misguided need to unburden myself, I made it worse. Through the haze of my own intoxication, I confessed. Not to claim you, not to seek your love, But because I thought you should know. I thought I owed you that much. I’ll never forget the way you sobbed, How your pain deepened and spilled over. You left my car, slammed the door, And disappeared into the night, Leaving me alone with the weight of my choice. You never said a word in return. And to this day, I wonder: Did I hurt you more by telling you? Did you feel betrayed that I’d kept it secret so long? Or was it simply too much. Too much pain, too much at once, From someone you trusted the most? I thought I was doing the right thing. But I realize now, it was selfish. A foolish attempt to lighten my own burden At the cost of yours. I feared losing you, And that fear became reality. The laughter we shared, the trust we built. Gone, because I didn’t know when to stay silent. Would it have been better to keep it to myself? To let the feelings fade in time? Maybe. But I’ll never know if that would have saved us. Now I sit with the memory of you, The absence of your voice, And the ache of what I threw away. A lesson in love, in timing, And the price of losing you. ## Images 1.
