Does any other country have a concept similar to the Korean slang ‘썸’? ‘썸(some)’ is a term used to indicate that there is ‘some’thing between a boy and a girl. It refers to a relationship where they have mutual feelings and may go on dates, but they are not officially boyfriend and girlfriend. The relationship can either develop into a committed relationship or simply fade away without becoming official. In short, it can be described as the stage where they get to know each other before officially dating. I ask it cuz some of my foreign friends told me they have no concept like this.
