The Tatev Aerial Tramway, known as “Wings of Tatev,” is the world’s longest reversible cable car operating on a single track. It was opened in 2010 and connects the village of Halidzor in Armenia’s Syunik Province with the historic Tatev Monastery. The tramway spans approximately 5.7 kilometers, and the entire journey takes about 12 minutes. The route passes over deep gorges, forests, and mountains, offering breathtaking views. The tramway was built as part of a project to promote tourism in the Tatev Monastery and surrounding areas. It serves not only as a convenient and fast means of transportation to the monastery but has also become a tourist attraction in its own right. Its high technical safety standards and architectural design make it a structure of global significance.
