信用 Vs 信頼 信用はbelieve で信頼はtrustなのかな。 On the way to Phuket, I watched the movie “Alladin”, the real version. Aladdin and “the whole new world” which is the theme song from this movie are my favorite from Disney. The scene where Jasmine was invited to ride on the magic carpet by Alladin, he said “Trust me”. Then she could trust his words and enjoyed the trip around the world riding on the magic carpet. I know this is just a fairy tale and not a real story. But I wonder how he easily used the word “TRUST”, and she could “TRUST” him easily! Trusting someone is like a strong feeling and putting our heart on. They have big differences between trust and belief. Believing someone is judging based on the evidence and the facts from the past. Trusting someone can’t be accomplished in the beginning easily and hard to establish for everyone. Can you trust someone and what kind of evidence do you need to trust someone? In Japanese, we have these words, 信用、信頼。 We use them differently for each situation. 信用 is used in business scene, on the other hand 信頼 is used in human relationships. Our life would be enriched according to how many people around us we can trust.
