Mansur Al-Hallaj is by far one of my favourite Sufi writers. Despite he rarely wrote in Farsi, I cannot help but feel the Persian spiritual heritage in his works. His teachings on عشق (ʿIshq) and وحده الوجود (waḥdat al-wujūd) are simply fascinating! 😍 English translation... 👇🏽 "Any love that dares steal my heart— if it is not yours, it is forbidden to me. You are my wine and my spirit, my rose and its lingering scent. You are my joy and my unrest, my ailment and my cure. From yearning to yearning, life quietly slips away... but only in you does peace truly dwell." - Mansur Al-Hallaj ❤ ⚠️ Disclaimer: I don’t mean to disrespect the Arabic language with my imperfect pronunciation; I simply wished to humbly recite this poem in the beautiful language Mansur once wrote in. 🙏🏾
