Hello friends, how are you doing today? What time is it in your region? I started using HelloTalk about 3 weeks ago, and still, I haven't quite gotten the time difference. As I mentioned in my previous Moments, I started listening to NPR last Saturday to improve my listening skills. It seems that the morning in my country, Japan, is the evening in the United States where NPR is broadcasted. I usually tune in to WYPR, which is based in Maryland, but as soon as I start listening to it, it wraps up American programs and starts airing BBC World Service. It's not like I'm not interested in BBC(!) but I'm just focusing on American English at the moment because my listening skills still have a lot of room to improve, and American English is a bit easier for me to understand. Please don't fight over which accent we should learn or which accent is better in the comment section! lol So my question is, if I tune in to a radio station in California, is it different? For example, it's 2:00 p.m. in Japan right now and midnight in New York, but it's still 9:00 p.m. in Los Angeles. I'm going to try an NPR station in California tomorrow.
