The other day I was talking to a Korean friend, who I met through this app and when he asked how I replied "I am trying to juggle studying, working and having a social life 😅" He was a bit struggling to understand what I meant because of the word "juggle" 🫣 Those who are not interested in the circus world, might have never even come across the word "to juggle", so my conversation with him, encouraged me to share this note with you and share the explanation i gave him to this phrase: When someone juggles, usually they juggle balls or clubs; based on that action, the phrase "to juggle things around" is born. It refers to trying to make things happen or to be more accurate - trying to do many things at the same time. On this occasion instead of saying "I juggle many things", I specifically mentioned which things I "juggle" 😅 Sometimes when people are really busy and you will invite them to come to some gathering or event etc., they might use a form of this phrase and say "I will try to see how I can juggle things around", to say that they will try to see how they hopefully will be able to change other commitments on their schedule and "make an appearance" (come over, even if it's just for a short while). Another reference from the circus world, which kind of has a similar meaning, is when a person says "yeah, I am trying to keep all the balls in the air" - the phrase refers to juggling again, but when someone uses this phrase, it usually means that they are actually quite struggling to keep up with all their commitments.. Perhaps the reference to the balls themselves rather than the juggling action; it adds a bit more to the "risk" of one of the balls falling, which might lead to an avalanche of all the balls falling 😱😅 ## Images 1.
