My mother used to say when I was a kid, "If you don't obey me, I will spank you." Now, my husband and I say to each other, "If we don't go to church every Sunday, the Lord will stop giving us blessings." Are we truly afraid of those warnings, or are we indeed capable of determining what's good and bad? We don't need to study further the doctrines or laws about being obedient because it is a well-known fact that no one can withstand. Factual, accurate, correct, and true.
