Lately my friends and I have been talking about intonation and dialect. Today I used the word "cloud" in a conversation with a friend. Then my friends say 「I thought you said spider!」 In Japan, both clouds and spiders are called "kumo" Also, bridge, chopstick, and edge are also called "Hashi’’ My friend asked me to pronounce all of these, and when I did, they were strangely different from my friend's! Also,in Wakayama they don’t say 「nambo 」which means 「how much ?」like that.So when I use it, my friends say, "It feels like the real Kansai dialect.
