Why earthquakes?  

 happen when energy stored in the Earth's crust is suddenly released, causing the ground to shake. This can happen for a few reasons:

1. Moving Plates: The Earth's surface is made of big pieces called tectonic plates. These plates move and push against each other. When the pressure becomes too much, the rocks break, causing an earthquake.


2. Fault Lines: Cracks in the Earth's surface, called faults, are where rocks can slide past each other. This sudden movement can cause earthquakes.


3. Volcanoes: When magma moves underground near volcanoes, it can create small earthquakes.


4. Human Activities: Things like mining, building dams, or drilling deep into the ground can sometimes cause small earthquakes.
