My language journey started just a few years ago. The first language I learned was French 🇫🇷 , which I picked up because three of my cousins have a Swiss dad and learned French. Listening to them sparked my interest. My level remained basic for many years since it was a bit challenging. In high school, I began learning Korean, as I often traveled to Korea 🇰🇷 with my family. It was around this time that I developed an interest in linguistics and considered studying social sciences. I also learned English, though it was quite difficult for me at first 🥲 My skills only improved when I began traveling and using English on a daily basis. Now, my English is much better, though my pronunciation still makes people laugh. I continued studying French and Korean, but English became more important, so even though I started learning both before English, it ended up becoming my second language. After my first student exchange in Switzerland 🇨🇭 , I was exposed to German 🇩🇪 and instantly fell in love. I thought French was tough, but German? Wow. I wasn't prepared for that, haha! But I'm excited to be able to speak German as well as English someday. I primarily study social sciences because of the knowledge and education it offers. I don’t think I would have learned as much without my studies. It's expanded my curiosity about the world and human nature. So, even if my dream job isn’t related to social sciences, I’m grateful I chose to study it.
