I like to think that my recording had something to do with that, but probably not. In any case, this is a fun recording, so let me do another one. In the last recording, I looked at some of the smallest numbers. Now, the biggest. As of today, “What does this mean” has 119,251 posts. “Help me translate” has 251,153 posts, and “How’s my pronunciation” has 251,153 posts. “Language exchange” has 154,891 posts, but the winner…(drum roll) goes to “Help me learn languages” at 546,784 posts. This is a massive number, more than twice the population of Geneva, and the money I’ll earn in the next 3 days. In euros? No. In dollars? I wish. In Chinese Yuan? That’s too little…I’ll let you use your imagination. Most of the posts with the largest numbers have to do with language, which is obvious. “How’s my pronunciation” is interesting though. Maybe everyone is self-conscious about their pronunciation, or the fact that they have an accent. I always say that as long as people can understand you, don’t worry too much about your pronunciation, and I think it’s quite nice to have an accent, which is part of your identity.
