Hello! (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) Today I'm sharing a movie review I had to write for my English homework. Feel free to correct it or leave any constructive criticism! ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ ”The Lobster review. The lobster is a film directed by greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, in 2015. It stars Collin Farrell as David and Rachel Weisz as “the short sighted woman”. It was nominated for the Palm d’Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, and won the Jury Prize. It’s script was awarded the International ARTE Award for Best Project at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and it’s script was also nominated for an Oscar. The film is set a near future in a dystopian world. It was filmed in Dublin, Ireland. The film tells an unconventional love story, where the search for a romantic partner is a matter of life or death. The singles must find a partner within 45 days, or they will be turned into an animal pf their choosing. They can extend this period by hunting escaped “solitaries” in a forest. Each captured solitarie gives them an extra day. I highly recommend “The lobster”. Is my favorite movie, indeed, because it’s not only entertaining and keeps you constantly hooked.. it’s also a critique of society. It makes you think about society’s obsession with superficial relationships, the need to get married at specific age, have children, and that kind of things people do to feel “realized in life”. ”
