CAUTION: This might be a long, redundant statement and slightly a radical idea. I reckon that many Japanese young people, such as those who are around 16~22 years old, don't have their own opinions or any kind of solid will. Though i'm also in that generation, I feel in that way, talking with people around me. For instance, when they are asked to discuss a controversial issue, like whether the death penalty should be banned or not, they simply answer yes or no without any certain reasons. Some of them even cannot answer it and just say "I don't know." What is worse, there are some people who don't decide what they do by themselves. For example, one of my acquaintances always asks me what to buy or what to eat. Lots of people accompany with their friends and do something because their friends do it. I completely cannot understand these behaviors, but i'm sure that these are not rare cases. Things like this often happen. I wonder how on earth they can abandon their precious ability to think or consider. I regard this ability as the most precious, privileged right that human beings have, so I deplore this situation of Japan. However, i guess that one of the leading causes of this is the richness as a country. I mean, even such people can live in this country without thinking, being worried and being exposed to any danger. It is true that such a country is a good country to some extent. However, I sometimes feel some kind of fear like being dependent on something useful too much. I know this is kinda envious dilemma, but sometimes I worry about the future of my country because I like this country. Thanks for reading:))
