I will be emailing HelloTalk customer support TODAY🚨 ⚠️ I urge others to READ, LIKE this post and to do the same to make HelloTalk better. Many people here have been unable to keep up with hundreds of messages being sent directly to their inbox. As a result users: →Lose interest, burn out, or feel uncomfortable from HelloTalk due to an overwhelming amount of messages. →First messages users receive are at times explicit and inappropriate in nature. (Very negative) → When people have finally found the language learning partners they desire, they are lost in a flood of messages. → People should not have notifications of 700+, 1000+ messages unless they wish to talk to that many people We as users and learners need and deserve A REQUEST TO CHAT function. Which enables users to accept chats into their inbox, rather than have constant flux of messages. I believe the best thing to do is for everyone to reach out to HelloTalk customer support and write this simple message. "Dear Hello Talk Support, I and many others who are using your app, have found the direct messaging aspect to be overwhelming and detrimental to the user experience of your application. It is impacting the language learners experience and preventing people from forming relationships and using this app for a long period of time. HelloTalk should, in response to increasingly negative user experience, introduce a REQUEST TO CHAT button/function, which does not appear as a notification but a tab users can select when the desire to see who wants to chat with them. Users can still write a message and introduce themselves, but it won't go directly into the primary inbox. Later on more upgrades can be added such as filtering for age, native language etc. This will enable user to select who they want to chat with, improve user experience and the relationship between users. And INCREASE business for HelloTalk, by making it the #1 language learning app. Thank you."
