DAY 2 As you might guess, we ate a lot on the second day too. We went to a seafood restaurant for breakfast and had a seafood bowl and aji fry (fried horse mackerel). Everything was delicious. Even if you’re not into fish, I recommend aji fry — it’s crispy and fluffy, and not too fishy. Next, we took a one-hour train ride to Samukawa Shrine⛩️ It was peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful nature. I really loved the atmosphere. Why did we visit the shrine? Because we are in our yakudoshi year, so we needed to ward off bad luck. The kannushi (Shinto priest) read our names, addresses, birthdays, and wishes in old-fashioned Japanese. We drew omikuji (fortune slips). Mine said that being considerate and thankful would bring better luck — I’ll keep that in mind. Then it was time to eat again! We went to a Chinese restaurant and had noodles and dumplings🍜🥟 So good! On the way home, we took the shinkansen and ate desserts — fresh chocolate and matcha-flavored nama choco with milk🍫🍵🥛 We enjoyed so much Japanese food and laughed a lot. I think we even trained our abs from laughing!💪 Even if our life stages become different, I hope we’ll still hang out until we’re 100-year-old grannies!👵 The last picture shows me training to become a ninja on the first day🥷
