Today, I’m reminding myself that Jesus doesn’t call us to the deep and leave us alone. Sometimes, I have to remind myself not to find safety in hiding. It’s easy for me to fall back and take cover. It doesn’t require courage or vulnerability; it brings me comfort. But God has not called me to be my own savior. Surrendering to God’s protection requires that I release my own. I surrender. I choose covenant over comfort. I’m living to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, not the temporary shelter that my fear provides.
