"The use of religions as tools for exploitation has been going on for centuries!" Tom Edwards was one of the twelve boy choristers at the Chapel Royal Leti's 'Il nipotismo di Roma or The history of the Popes nephews by Gregorio Leti, 1667, translated by W. Aglionby 1669. It’s a sharp, satirical exposé of papal nepotism, tracing popes from Sixtus IV to Alexander VII appointing relatives, often nephews, to powerful roles. It critiques how this enriched families, skewed Vatican politics, and undermined the Church.
