I have a question for Japanese native speakers 🙋 In English, we use the word "tomboy" for girls or young women who act, dress, or speak the way that a boy or young man typically would. I'm trying to find the most appropriate translation for this word in Japanese but I keep hearing different variations. First, I heard「僕っ子」 (bokko / bokukko ?) which seems to only be a TV Trope or stereotype. Second, I heard 「お転婆」 (おてんば) which seems more fitting, but I wasn't sure. What word would you recommend I use for this translation? Also, is there a negative connotation for this word? Thank you 🙇
