この植物を見て、気になったので近所の人に聞きました。 I saw this plant and got curious、 so I asked my neighbor. その人は「ブルーベリーだよ」と答えました。 That person said, "It's a blueberry." 私は「そうなんですね」と言いました。 I said, "Oh、 I see." 写真を撮ってみると、トゲがあることに気づきました。 When I took a photo, I noticed it had thorns. 調べてみたら、それは「ベンガルカラント」という植物でした。 I did some research and found out it was a "Bengal Currant." フィリピンでは「カラマイ」や「カルンピット」と呼ばれています。 In the Philippines, it is called "Karamay" or "Kalumpit." 実は食べられて、まだ熟していないと酸っぱくて、熟すと甘酸っぱくなります。 The fruit is edible. When unripe, it’s sour; when ripe, it becomes sweet-tart. ブルーベリーにはトゲがなく、フィリピンのような暖かい国では育ちにくいです。 Blueberries don’t have thorns and don’t grow well in warm countries like the Philippines.
