Heya, time for another post! This time, I wanted to share a project I did a few years ago during my architecture studies. It was only represented through a 1:20 scale model, so quite a big one! The theme was « domestic housing », and the task our teachers gave us was to invent a scenario about the people who would live in the space, and then design a project based on that. My scenario: a couple of grandparents. The grandfather enjoys cooking and knitting, while the grandmother is into tinkering (yeah, a bit of a cliché, so I decided to switch the roles for once!). They also often host their grandchildren. Based on that, the space needed to include: a workshop, a room for the kids, and a shared living area for the whole family. The concept behind the layout (which I highlighted in colors) is organized into three main bands: - On the right: the living area, - In the center, marked in orange: a technical area with storage and sanitary facilities, - In purple: the nighttime spaces, - And in blue: a modular zone connecting the workshop and the children’s room via sliding doors, allowing the space to expand when needed. During an exhibition at school earlier this year, they displayed some of the models students made for this exercise. So here are a few other versions I wanted to share with you. Let me know what you think! La bizzzz
