A snack is a cozy karaoke bar usually run by a woman called “Mama.” スナックは、ママと呼ばれる女性が切り盛りする家庭的なカラオケバーです。 (Sunakku wa, mama to yobareru josei ga kirimori suru katei-teki na karaoke bā desu.) People enjoy chatting and singing with Mama and other customers. ママや他のお客さんとおしゃべりしたり、歌ったりして楽しみます。 (Mama ya hoka no okyakusan to oshaberi shitari, utattari shite tanoshimimasu.) They also have a bottle-keep system, where you buy a bottle and keep it at the bar with your name on it. ボトルキープという文化もあり、お酒をボトルで買って、名前を書いてお店に預けます。 (Botoru kīpu to iu bunka mo ari, osake o botoru de katte, namae o kaite omise ni azukemasu.) It might feel intimidating to enter as a first-timer, but many places are welcoming even to women and young people. 初めての人には入りづらく感じるかもしれませんが、女性や若い人にも親しみやすいお店が多いです。 (Hajimete no hito ni wa hairizuraku kanjiru kamoshiremasen ga, josei ya wakai hito ni mo shitashimiyasui omise ga ōi desu.) ## Images 1.
