Northern lights/Aurora Borealis

The Northern lights is a natural

light phenomena you can see in the sky, mostly in high latitude areas such as the Arctic and Antarctic.

The lights is a result of solar winds that causes disturbances in the magnetosphere.
The lights appear in a clear night sky as swirling rivers of greenish-blue light. Most of the lights moves rather quickly causing different forms. The northern lights can take many different shapes where each has a special name, and yes Corona is one of the names. The different shapes are determined by the level of solar activity. The most spectacular display usually takes place around 10:00-11:00 pm, but the lights is visible before and after that.

It is said that Abisko, in the northern parts of Sweden, is among the best places to see the Northern lights. In fact it’s location has been an internationally recognized center for research related to space and Earth. A must do is to watch the lights from Abisko Sky Station.

⬇️Pictures are from the last trip to Abisko. We were a bit nervous about the weather since it was cloudy, but the sky cleared up and magic happened. We also managed to see the lights with the 22° halo (moon) which was a beautiful sight for the eye...Last three pictures from Iceland trip last year..
