I've been asked a question many times about my nationality."Are you Chinese or Korean?" I'm neither. I'm Native American, of the Navajo (Diné) tribe in Arizona. It's possible that if I took a DNA test, I might have some sort of bloodline tracing back to places in Asia. When I get a chance to take the test, I'll post the results. My mother tongue is Navajo (Diné). Navajo is a tonal language, with four separate tones of voice for pronouncing vowels: low, high, rising and falling. We don't have a traditional alphabet or use symbols. Mostly what people will read is a general romanization of our language. However, I was raised on both Diné and English. Over the years, I've learned some German and Spanish. These days, my focus has been on Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.
