外国人(俺だけかな?w)があまり言われたくないフレーズ😊

「こんにちは!」。。。「日本語上手!」

「こんにちは!」と

言うだけで、「おー、日本語上手!」と言われたくない外国人が多い。子供なら、別にいいと思うけど、大人が挨拶だけで褒められても、少し上から目線みたいに感じる。もちろん、もっと難しい言葉とか使ったら、褒めても大丈夫だと思う。

「外国人だから、納豆が食べれないでしょう!」

外国人だからじゃなくて、ただ好きじゃないだけ。だって、納豆が好きじゃない日本人も多い。好きじゃないのが当たり前だ!みたいな聞き方より、聞けばいいのが「納豆が好き?」と言う聞き方のほうがいいだろう。イギリス人だから〇〇、インド人だから〇〇、外国人だから〇〇と言うフレーズをあまり使わないほうが仲良くなりやすい。

「英語を教えて〜!」

仲良くなって、すぐ「英語を教えて欲しい!!」と言う日本人がたくさんいる。仕事で英語を教えている外国人がたくさんいるので、最初から嫌な気分になる。例えば、マックでバイトしている友達がいるとしたら、「家に来てタダでハンバーグを作ってくれたら嬉しい!」って聞かないでしょう。仲良くなってすぐ外国人に英語教えて欲しい!って言ってしまったら、まるで次の言葉になる、「毎日8時間ぐらい、英語教えていると分かっているけど、タダで残業して欲しい」。英語を教えて欲しいと聞くより、普通に仲良くなって、英語と日本語両方で会話をするのがいいと思う。自分で習って、会話にするのほうが「働け!」に感じない。

    マイクロアグレッションですね… 他にも、箸が持てると直ぐに「お箸上手に使いますね!」って言われるということを聞いたことあります…

    いやでもおれは凄いと思うけどなぁ。英語を勉強すればするほど第二言語の難しさを実感するからおはようとかありがとうだけでも言える外国の人は凄いと思う。

    外国人という言葉を使うと"外の人"と仲間はずれにしてるみたいって聞いたことがあるので私も使わないようにしてます。外国人の友達が欲しいって言ってる人もあまり理解できないなぁ〜〜

    @Tomomi most foreigners are okay with 外国人 because 外にあるのは「国」. But 外人という言葉なら、外にあるのは「人」so many people don’t like it. And thankyou for caring about how you use your words :):)

    そうですよね、、確かに!ただ、日本語上手の意味には、日本に興味も持ってくれてありがとうとか、日本語で話せる!わぁ〜やった!みたいな意味も含まれてるような気がします!私の感覚はそんな感じだったけど、でも気をつけよう、、、

    @Haruka yes! I understand your point and feeling but it feels like we are being belittled (バカにされてる/けなされてる)sometimes >< even if that is not your intention :) BUt I totally understand it’s sometimes meant in a good meaning.

    私は逆に「日本語を教えて」と外国人に言われることがよくあります。 もちろん日本語を教えることは好きですし、楽しいです。 でも時々、日本語の勉強のために利用されているだけなのかな?と寂しくなる時があります。

    気持ちは分かるけど、あんまり難しく考え過ぎないように。社交辞令だと思って聞き流せたら気が楽だと思う。 今に始まったことでもないと思うので。☺

    @Magog hi ken! Thanks for your comment and yeah sometimes I get stressed about things that shouldn’t be a big deal >< maybe it’s better to not care as much. It’s better to ‘go with the flow’ sometimes right?:)

    @tom yesss, like why can’t they see u as a “person”, but as a “race” or “gaijin”. But tbh, if you are an asian foreigner, the story can be so different. I feel like in japan, they think like appearance =identity, so whenever they see an asian person, they tend to talk in Japanese and won’t ask “can u teach me“ to the person even tho that person is fluent in English.

    たぶん、それを言う人は、トムさんとはなしたいだけなんじゃないかと思います。だけど、話のネタが見つからずなんとかきっかけを見つけようとして、"日本語上手"しか頭に浮かばなかったのかも知れないですね! その台詞は、positive な意味で言ってると思う。 "今日はいい天気ね?"と同じような感覚で言ってる気がする! たぶん英語教えて!も同じだけど、こっちはガッカリしちゃいますね!

    あと「お箸を使うのが上手ですね。」とかも言われるのが嫌なフレーズに入るかもしれませんね。
