If someone asks you how you feel, what words do you use to describe

your emotions? 🤔

Do you use "sad", "happy", or "angry"?😢😃😡 Unfortunately, these words are rather general and do not pinpoint the particular emotion clearly.

However, if instead of "sad", you use "disappointed", it clarifies your use of "sad" whereby you had high expectations of something that did not happen.

Or if you're "regretful", you're sad because you feel bad about something you did.

And if you're "mournful", you're saddened from the lost of someone or something.

How do you feel now? Check out the chart below to see if any of the vocabulary fits your emotions.

@David every emotional patten can be explained by your thoughts and fears, even if they were set in your childhood. I believe in today ☺ because the only thing you can change is today, not the past. There are certain exercises for developing emotional intellect, I’m trying to do them 😊

@Kira True. Sometimes, it is not as easy to identify our sources of our emotions. Why do we feel the way we feel? Some childhood-related event that set off certain emotions, perhaps?

I think it’s not only the matter of one’s vocabulary but also the matter of identifying one’s emotions. To expand emotional vocabulary, one should learn to feel these emotions and to name them. Even in our native language we are not always able to name a long list of emotions we feel. So thanks for reminding about different emotions we experience, it can help us to feel more subtly 😊
