ENGLISH SPELLING AND PRONUNCIATION F/V

F and V are made by blowing air between the upper front teeth and bottom lip.

F is a quiet consonant. V uses voice
(touch your throat and say "vvvvvvvv". Feel your vocal cords vibrate 🙂).

Let's go over some words ending in F and their plural form.

shelf→ shelves [~vz]
self→ selves [~vz]
knife→ knives [~vz]
wolf→ wolves [~vz]
life→ lives [~vz]

Now look at these nouns becoming verbs:

safe→ save
life→ live
proof→ prove
belief→ believe
