Why only the native speakers are allowed? I am from India and I have been speaking English since I have known to speak. And now I am pursuing my master degree in English literature and language. Even Epik program allows Indians to become teachers in South Korea. Why is this biasness?

@Gayatri i think because they don't want people with different accents, they're too lazy to test you and it would be even offensive to tell you you're not accepted because of your accent. You might say "but some non natives don't have an accent", yeah that's very rare and that's why they save themselves some time to accept only natives.

You will never get better teacher for English than Indians. Our schools make compulsory to study 3 languages from UKG level : English, hindi, state language. So, reconsider your requirements.

@Muhammad I’m from Colorado where the minimum wage is $12.32/hr. I think the highest in the states is Washington D.C. and NYC at $15/hr and the lowest is Wyoming and Georgia at $5.15/hr. It’s interesting how it varies by state. What about in Palestine?

Nothing against non native English speakers... there are valid points on both sides. In fact some non natives who learned elsewhere speak English better than some native speakers. But, I also think the point is the colloquoalism in the native English speaking areas. While grammatically incorrect language is not only grammatically important, but culturally important. If I say, "that's fire." It doesn't mean it's "flames and hot." It means it's, "cool, i love it, or it's hot and trendy." I think these are the things that they want as well which only true natives growing up would really understand and know.

I just have to point out, it says "ideal candidates" should be native speakers. Ideal means preferred not required. If you know English well enough, and you want to do this, try applying! The worst that will happen is they'll tell you you didn't get the job. 🤷‍♀️

Now that u put it this way, "shekel" originates from "shakel," the canaanites' currency then - another way of stealing identity is stealing history - but also traditional dishes and clothes, old houses and "names" of the geography.
