Idiom of the Day
“Sick as a dog”

With flu season in full strength

, it is possible some of you may be “sick as a dog.” This expression means that you are not just experiencing flu like symptoms, but you are really sick. You are so sick that you need to stay in bed in order to get better and should not work. A common American remedy would be to give you chicken noodle soup, tea with lemon and honey, and lots of orange juice.

“Yesterday I was sick as a dog and I couldn’t go into work. Now I’m going to use the weekend to recover.”

@Kha Dija very good! You made one small mistake. You substituted “expressed” with “experienced.”
