Would you like to stand in 70 kilometre an hour wind beside a

glacier lake at the foot of New Zealand's highest mountain? It was an exhilarating experience, although rather chilly. When I came here 8 days ago with my work team the air was calm and it was bright sunshine. A week later the wind was ferocious. It pushed the ice and icebergs down the lake. The most astounding experience was the sound of the ice tinkling against each other in the lake water. It sounded like stirring the ice in your drink. If you listen carefully you might just be able to hear the tinkling behind the sound of the wind in the video (video 1). There were some people in shorts. I wondered whether their brains had frozen as well as their legs 😂 (video 2)

@Rachael I’m afraid of strong wind because I can’t breath well when it’s windy. But I really love winter and this view is magnificent 😳

@Rachael Absolutely. Where there is fear there is also thrill. And when you thrill you feel more alive.

@Anjali Great pronunciation☺. Only one word was incorrect, wind. This is a difficult word because it changes based on sentence structure. Talk about the 'wind' on a windy day and that sounds different to when I 'wind' the wool.

@Jean Of course my husband did choose to pick up ice from the glacier lake 😂
