When I started college (about 11 years ago) I was hired to work

in the web development office of the college IT department. My older brother also worked there. He told me the woman I would be working for was Chinese. I was very nervous because I didn’t know anyone who was Chinese and I was afraid it would be embarrassing if I couldn’t understand what she was saying. Actually I only met her a few times and she left the job shortly after to move back to China. Now I have a lot of chinese friends and I don’t worry about small things like having to ask someone to repeat when I don’t understand.

    ❤Thank you say your true feelings. Most of Chinese are actually warm and hold good ideas on foreign friends. Btw, I’d been to Marryland and my ESOL teacher gave me a lot of warm feelings. Hope the friendship between different cultures keep long.

    Thanks for sharing your feeling. I have the same feeling too. Sometimes I worry too much about my pronounciation and grammar so that I don't have the enough courage to communicate with foreigner.

    Thank you for sharing David !We are all nervous about not understanding each other. Especially when the other one is a foreigner. I also had a funny experience.Years ago I met an American man in McDonald. Because there is a picture of several movie stars on my T-shirt so he asked me which star I liked?I answered immediately:Yes,I like stars very much but now it's daytime they all disappeared. He was surprised and repeated his question slowly and clearly. I laughed and told him my favorite movie star is 彭于晏,because he is cute and man. It was coinsident he knew him well so we had a good conversation. After that,I would ask someone to repeat if I don't really get their meaning. Most of them are willing to offer their helps!🍀🐶
